Psychotherapy is a method of bringing relief in distress of a psychological and emotional nature. At its core it is a meeting, conversation, and cooperation of two individuals – the client and the therapist – during which it becomes possible to focus on psychological problems and to discover unconscious material that frequently bears connection to the psychological issues. The aim of psychotherapy is also to improve the quality of life and to seek an internal growth.
In my therapeutic practice, I work with individuals facing a broad range of issues, such as crisis and liminal situations, problems with adaptation or involving transition between different stages of life, separation or mourning, difficulties in personal or professional relationships, professional burn out, spiritual emergency, identity or values crises, or search for meaning or vocation. I do not work with minors below 16 years of age, or persons with active addictions to alcohol or other mind-altering substances. In case of persons with active addictions, the psychotherapy process can commence some time after the addiction treatment concludes.
The sessions last 50 minutes and are held at fixed hours, on a weekly basis or more frequently. Psychotherapy is normally preceded by 2 or 3 consulting sessions, after which we jointly decide whether to commence the therapy and if so, on what terms. I offer sessions in Polish or English.
